That’s rather harsh, but I find among my circle of friends that Demuro is a polarizing figure. Some, like myself, enjoy his writing while others flat out wish they could live the Demuro lifestyle. Whereas others can’t stand anything he writes and reflexively eyeroll any time you mention Carmax.

Anyone who hates Doug or hates on Doug are pretty much pathetic. He could easily shit on various people and chooses not too. He has no ego, no bravado, no braggadocio. Nothing in his videos that would say hey I get to do this and have fun for a living while you cry on FB about how much you hate me even when he easily could.

when I was in college, I would ride my mountain bike to class. Almost every day leaving for class I could time it so that I met an Aston Martin at a red light near my apartment. I loved that car. With traffic and other lights I was side by side almost the whole way to campus.
